Location: Kiln Cowork, Bozeman MT. (219 N 19th Avenue, Bozeman, MT.)
This is a free, 90-minute, hands-on session (no lecture, no slide marathon) where participants practice a small set of questions that help surface what’s really underneath a disagreement before assumptions take over. You’ll try the tools live, in real situations, not hypotheticals. I am bringing in my friend and colleague, Emily Stifler Wolfe, to share a framework from the “Clean Language” model (and not the kind of clean language you are probably thinking of! If you know me, you know I’m not going to stop dropping F-bombs any time soon :) This model is powerful, but simple, and has become an essential part of my coaching and facilitation toolkit, and I’m excited to share it with you!
Objectives of the session:
Recognize the moment a conversation starts to go sideways, and have a way to shift it
Learn 2–3 simple questions that reduce assumptions and defensiveness in the room
Practice separating what someone said from what you assumed they meant
Leave with something usable in your very next hard conversation
Who it’s for:
This is for you if you’re in any role in which you engage regularly in conversations where stakes, opinions, or personalities collide; team leaders, project managers, anyone who mediates, or anyone tired of misunderstandings turning into bigger conflicts than they need to be.
